Color Knowledge in Printing
RGB and CMYK
Our computer screen displays images in RGB color mode, which presents brighter colors. However, when printing, we use CMYK, which is a different color mode.
To make RGB files printable, they must be converted to CMYK.
Filling colors
- Please always use the CMYK format instead of the RGB format when filling colors in graphic design.
- Please do not use less than 8% of any color from the base image, as the color will be too light to print.
- For 100% black color blocks or lines, use pure black (K100%) only, with no other colors to avoid overlapping colors. Do not set overprint for other colors.
- Please avoid using 100% of each color (C100%, M100%, Y100%, K100%) or a total ink coverage of more than 250% to prevent the ink from drying slowly, which can cause smudging.
- When there is a light screen over a base color, the color difference between the light screen and the base color should be greater than 25%.
